I haven't tried the Protek's. I run Smc and Onyx. I have used Venom's hard and soft and had pretty good luck with them. Except for the universal battery connector. It has aluminum connectors and they were heating up on my old E-Maxx. A sign of resistance. So I soldered some gold Traxxas connectors on. They were 8K Mah hardcase Venoms and their still going strong for my son. He runs them dual in my old Maxx. Now I have heard the green hardcase Venoms or Li Powers suck.I saw the Eco and wasn't to impressed.
SMC are a good bang for your $$ battery, ive known guys to run them for 3 to 4 years.. But from what I know, they dont have the true-c punch The orion packs have.. Yes Flash, IMO the Orion packs are great.

Here's the Smc site. Great prices. I have a set of 7.4v 4100 70C burst that have been great. Bought them used, they were like new, and you can see the higher burst when driving. www.smc-racing.net/ Onyx are decent beat around batteries, nothing special, except they make a reliable battery. But for higher burst rate, not much there. Sometimes what gets me is people that bash around, and they will spend $125 for one lipo with 150C burst, lol. I'm like for real? Short of a pair in a 6S Mamba monster Revo, most will never tell the difference lol. I had a set of Traxxas soft pack that were pretty good, had good burst at first, but you could see them slowly drop off as they aged, way to soon imo. Speedpack is pretty decent, I have some of those, decent burst.
One thing people don't realize is when running pairs together, you are doubling burst. If each battery is 30C, you end up with 60C with pairs. Because you aren't pulling off each individual pack as hard. One thing I do personally is about about 5 or 6 cycles, I discharge the battery down to close to 3.0v and recharge back up. I think Lipos will make memory, and that helps wipe it.

Anyone else try VANT lipos? I've been running the 7600mah in my truggy and haven't had a problem. They pack good punch and last long.
I have never tried those lipos, is this their site www.vantbattery.com/ ? Has anyone ever tried the Promatch lipo batteries I hear they are really good batteries.
