Team Associated has discontinued the B44.2, but that doesn’t mean aftermarket production for the car has stopped. Debuting this weekend at the JConcepts Indoor Summer Nationals is the new Schelle Racing Innovations B44.2 shorty conversion kit. This kit is rumored to shed up to 80+ grams of weight, giving the car quicker acceleration, faster cornering, and a more centralized weight layout offering better rotation. The B44.2 equipped with the Schelle shorty conversion is said to weigh roughly the same as the Hot Bodies D413, but feature ball differentials, slipper, and aluminum chassis.
There is no exact release date on the new conversion, however, we expect when it is released for this to limited edition item as a new version of the Team Associated B44 (or an entirely new car) is expected to be released at some point in the future.
I'm sorry but having the electronics on one side and the batts. on the other never made sense to me. It doesn't seem to be the best balance of the gear. I could be wrong though. Is that the reason that Associated discontinued the B44? Can't they do better with a saddle pack? It seems to me that they can balance the chassis better.
I'm sorry if it seemed that I was bashing the B44. I see that the B43.2 has saddle packs. So I'm sorry for those that took it wrong. I see I was too quick on the reply.

No worries bud, we all have opinions. I guess using saddles or shorties is more of a personal preference.
