What tracks are located in the PA area?
Sadly tracks come and go, we just lost RT 281 near Somerset, PA. So instead of listing all tracks in the thread we keep the map up to date at all times.
Every marker that is red is a track. Click on the marker to pull up a bubble that has each track's facebook page (click on the Blue name of the track), address, general info (indoor/outdoor, track surface, scoring system (when known), wheel chair accessibility (if known). In that bubble at the bottom left is a "directions" clickable link, just type in your address and you get distance in time and mileage plus turn by turn directions).
On the left of the screen is all the tracks listed alphabetically, we didn't want to show preference to one track over another. Btw, you can click on the track name on the left and it will cause the bubble to appear.
Yellow thumbtacks are hobby shops that carry RC "race" items, not just general rc.
Green thumbtacks are places that provide additional RC related services such as airbrushed bodies, decals and custom apparel.
I would have to say LCRC. Host of the 2012 Nitro Nats and 2013 E-Nats. The staff and owners are top notch and really strive to make the facility the most top notch, highest standard track in the region. If not the whole east coast!
Next I would have to say McCullough's due to the high caliber of competition of racers there! Also home to the East Coast Race Against Cancer. So far we have raised over $88K for the American Cancer Society. And last year was a record for us! Over 295 entries with a total of over $19K donated!!!!

DO you mange multiple rc tracks in that area?
No, I am not associated with any track. I'm just a racer that wanted to inform other racers of current events and locations of tracks, where to buy product locally, assist the little guys (painters, local decal makers, ect.) and forward general news about the RC racing scene so I started the POWRcR page almost a year ago.
I know there are many places on the web that list tracks but none of those are kept current. I used to travel to central PA often and was looking for a track out that way. Altoona RC Raceway pops up on every list but its been closed for about 2 years. Needless to say I was disappointed and that was the spark to start the FB page, build the map and try to maintain a racing calender...thought I might have to give up on the calender. I really wasn't expecting to find around 40 tracks in the region. I may maintain it with just trophy races, special events (the RAC at McCulloughs for example) and the Tri-State Off Road Championship Series.
Oh, and after hearing about this forum I put up a post to help get the word out.

Jim AKA "RC SCT Racer" has been doing an outstanding job with the POWRcR page and group! The page really helps out everyone in the area on whats going on with racing or other news in the region that relates to the wonderful hobby of RC.
Thanks again Jim! With out you and your dedication to this hobby. My series probably wouldn't be going on! Word spreads with your page!

Thanks for the kind words Chad. It was a fun day. First broke through the 200 likes barrier and then creating the poster for the Mountaineer at WFO Raceway! I know I don't have the skills like the guys from Wolcott Hobbies in Wolcott, CT or Sparks Park RC Raceway in Columbus, and never will, but it gets the job done. Thank you for your help in posting it everywhere.
Also, good luck to you for the upcoming Tri-State Off Road Championship Series! For those reading along click that link and join the page. Even if you can't attend the full series or even a single race it would be a great help in getting the word out to all our RC friends. Have you started a thread for the Series yet in the PA or OH sections yet? Needless to say I'll be helping promote it the best I can on POWRcR. If I have any extra cash anytime soon I'll see about getting a few shirts to throw in for giveaways.
