hey guys i want a scx10 but I'm not sure which model scx10 to get and I'm new to these scale crawlers but i love the looks of scale trail runs. enlighten me

One of the things I have to ask is what is your price range and do you want a RTR or do you want a kit? Here are some pros and cons of some of the cars:



Axial SCX 10 Trail Honcho:

Pros: The Trail Honcho comes RTR all you need is a battery and charger and you are ready to go crawling. The wheelbase is about 2 inches longer which I have heard may help clear obstacles a bit better. It also comes with a pre-painted body, that looks pretty realistic. $355 is a good price to get started in rock crawling.

Cons: Does not have have upgrade parts like the kit. The esc/motor is brushed so you might have to change it later on which can cost more in the long run. Has plastic shock bodies which may leak easily and eventually you might have to get the aluminum shock bodies then you might spend.



Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler(Falken Edition, Jeep Wrangler C/R Edition) RTR

Pros: They all come RTR as I said about the Trail Honcho all you need is a battery and charger. The body is a bit more realistic then the Trail Honcho, in my opinion the Jeep body looks way better.

Cons: Comes with brushed motor/esc, steering servo might not have a sufficient amount of torque. Wheelbase is bit shorter, might be a bit hard for the car to clear the bigger rocks. Has plastic shock bodies which may leak easily and eventually you might have to get the aluminum shock bodies.

Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler G6 Kit:
Pros: Comes with all the upgraded parts, so car might be a bit stronger then the kit. Comes with aluminum shocks compared to the plastic RTR shock bodies.  Looking at the specs on this kit is a bit lighter then the RTR. ST Racing concepts also makes some really good upgrade parts for the SCX10s.

Cons: No real cons that I can think of, maybe one con is that you might spend more on the electronics then the car.

Are you just looking for Axial? Vaterra makes some good crawlers.

eh i don't want a crawler really i just want something to make scale
